Phytochemistry Research and Product Testing We provide year around phytochemistry research to food processors, pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies in our 30,000 square feet, state of the art greenhouse nursery located in Central Florida. We also perform independent agricultural product efficacy testing. By bringing the research inside, in a controlled environment, and by altering soil types, temperature, soil moisture, pH, light, nutritional regimen, enzyme production and other factors, we can elicit physiological plant response more effectively. Unlike outdoors trials, which can be derailed by disease or weather, research in our facility saves time and money. For example, we are working on two projects for one of our clients. The first is to significantly increase the solids content of a medicinal plant grown organically. The second project entails testing numerous plants to find the one with the highest content of a particular chemical. This follows another project where we increased by three fold the concentration of the same chemical in one plant. Product testing is also more efficient in our greenhouse. For example, we can rate the performance of a product on multiple types of soils, with varying pH, under various soil moisture and light conditions, all at once. Once we find solutions in the green house, we also help our clients contract grow in the United States and Central America, and monitor production to ensure quality. |
